Phil Friedman is considered one of the restaurant industry’s top strategists. In 2011 he purchased the 86-unit chain Salsarita’s after leaving McAlister’s Deli where he served as Chairman, CEO and President. During his tenure, McAlister’s grew from 27 to 300 units and posted revenue of $343 million in 2009.

Phil previously was Chairman of Rosti Restaurants, President of Panda Management Company, CFO for Service America Corporation, VP of Restaurant Planning for Marriott Corporation, VP at Chi Chi’s, Inc. and COO at Sutton Place Gourmet Markets. He currently serves on the board of directors at the National Restaurant Association and formerly served on the board of directors at the International Franchise Association.

Phil’s industry awards include the International Food Manufacturers Association Silver Plate, the Golden Chain Award from Nation’s Restaurant News and the Cornerstone Humanitarian honor from the National Restaurant Association.
